Ground-penetrating radar, known as GPR, is a subsurface imaging technique utilized for the detection of underground objects or empty spaces. Due to its non-invasive nature and cost effectiveness, GPR has become a preferred method employed in various industries.

Concrete Testing GPR and Void Detection Radar

Handheld GPR is often used for concrete testing. A portable GPR can be used to detect post tension cables, steel reinforcements, and conduits, making it safe to drill, cut or core concrete.

It can also tell you the thickness of a concrete slab and act as a void detection radar, detecting any voids within the structure.

Unlike other methods such as radiographic inspection, handheld GPR inspection can be carried out from one side of the concrete.
